Research Projects

iPhone Trade-in Project

I developed a dynamic model of iPhone trade-ins to examine two questions: the optimal time interval between new iPhone releases, and the cannibalization effects between models. To estimate how long consumers are willing to wait before upgrading, I designed a nested fixed-point GMM estimation algorithm.

Pricing Strategies for Second-Hand Book Platforms

In progress: aiming to integrate machine learning to enhance the computational feasibility of dynamic pricing models.

Strategic Entry and Exit in the U.S. Airline Industry (Work in Progress)

The U.S. airline industry is highly competitive, with thousands of routes added or abandoned annually. Notably, small airlines often enter markets abandoned by major carriers, even though these routes are usually unprofitable with low demand. Why do smaller airlines target such "bad" markets?
